Electronic giant, Samsung is all set to upgrade Galaxy S II to the most recent Jelly Bean version of the Android operating system. According to CNET sources, a Samsung spokesperson confirmed that Jelly Bean updates will be rolled out initially to S II users in Singapore and subsequently to other countries.
There existed a buzz after Samsung Korea had posted details about the update of Samsung Galaxy S II from Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” to Android 4.0.4 “Ice Cream Sandwich” and its latest update to Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean”.
The model, Galaxy S II will run on Jelly Bean to enable faster and smoother transitions and providing an enhanced user interface which features a new and user-friendly notification panel.
The company stated, “It is powered by an impressive 1.2 GHz dual core processor that enables easy multi-tasking, smooth screen transitions and superior graphics for some of the most demanding applications and games.”
The model also include specifications like a 4.3-inch WVGA AMOLED display, 8 mega-pixel camera on the rear and forward- facing -2 megapixel snapper on the front for stills and video calling.
According to the post on SamMobile, after the upgrade, the internal memory of the phone will be reduced from 12GB to 11GB, where the reduced memory will be used for system partition.
